Higashikawa, Hokkaido: October 15th 2019
With a team of 2 other student photographers and our mentor, Michael Kaminski, I traveled to Higashikawa Japan the worlds town of photography to represent the US in an international photo festival/competition. Over 10 days we connected with photographers from around the globe, experienced art and culture in the town of Higashikawa, and competed in a series of three photo competitions. I was awarded the Student and Teacher Choice Award by the mayor of Higashikawa before returning home. Afterwards, series of photos from the trip were curated by Scott Thode and displayed in Viabizzuno, with all profits going to NYC SALT, an NYC non profit that teaches under served students around NY photography.
